The year 2025 has marked a milestone as a year of military projects for the Ata Nutku Ship Model Testing Laboratory. In the first half of 2025, model tests of the National Offshore Patrol Vessel, the National Fast Attack Craft, and finally the TF2000 Air Defense Warfare Frigate—expected to join the Turkish Naval Forces fleet in 2028—were successfully completed.

In the TF2000 project, resistance, wake, and propulsion tests were conducted to determine the engine power required for the vessel to reach its design speed. The experiments were carried out in the towing tank, which is 160 meters long, 5.8 meters wide, and 3.4 meters deep. During the tests, force, torque, and position sensors were used to assess the hydrodynamic performance of the vessel. The experimental results showed full agreement with high-fidelity computational analyses.
